Join us to ban most gas-powered leaf blowers in Acton
We are a group of Acton residents who recognize that gas-powered leaf blowers are not just smelly and noisy. They spew toxic emissions and create extreme sound pollution — posing health and environmental hazards to the operators, children, the elderly, and all Acton residents. These tools are unnecessary, thanks to the development of much quieter and cleaner electric leaf blowers, as well as alternatives that make blowing leaves unnecessary in many cases.
Let’s make Acton quieter and cleaner
It’s time for a change. A Quieter, Cleaner Acton is a Green Acton campaign advocating for a phasing out of gas-powered leaf blowers. The campaign supports the passage of a Warrant Article for a local bylaw on the issue at Acton’s May 5 Town Meeting.
Join us in making our community quieter and cleaner! Help us inform and turn out voters who will vote at Town Meeting for the phaseout of gas leaf blowers. This campaign website aims to inform and inspire you about this urgent issue, which has been successfully addressed in many of our neighboring towns. Questions? Look at our Frequently Asked Questions, find out about the harms of gas leaf blowers and the alternatives, check out other communities that are phasing out leaf blowers, contact us, or sign up.
Together, we can make a difference and work for a quieter, cleaner Acton.
